Therese Moreau is a journalist and lead writer at Version2. With a background in data science from the IT University of Copenhagen, she has worked as a data scientist and analyst. You may recognize her voice from various episodes of DR podcasts such as Genstart, Akkurat, or Prompt, where she discusses AI for a broad Danish audience. In addition to moderating the event, she will provide a fundamental introduction to AI.
Uri Kranot, alongside his wife Michelle Kranot, has created a series of award-winning animated short films and VR projects. Notable works include Hollow Land (2013), shortlisted for an Oscar, and How Long, Not Long (2016), which won the FIPRESCI Prize at Annecy. Their VR projects Nothing Happens (2017) and The Hangman at Home (2020) were both selected for the Venice Film Festival, with the latter winning Best VR Project. Uri will present his research on AI and storyboarding, developed through The Animation Workshop and the National Film School of Denmark.
Nick Dorra has over 20 years of experience in the animation industry, working with brands like Rovio (Angry Birds), Warner Brothers (Batman), ILM (Star Wars), and Hasbro (Transformers). He runs Nick Dorra Productions, helping IP holders bring their animation concepts to market and advising audiovisual companies on adapting to the rise of AI. With his presentation The Last 20%, Nick will explore how production enhancement can optimize your workflow.
The independent animated movie FLOW has taken the world and festivals by storm—Oscar-winner, Golden Globe winner, Annecy winner—the list goes on. Producer and scriptwriter Matīss Kaža will give a keynote about the creative processes behind the film and invite us into the world of FLOW. As Guillermo del Toro said about FLOW: "If I could wish for the future of animation, these images would be its magnificent, breathtaking start."
Henrik has worked as an Environment Art Director for the acclaimed Spanish studio SPA Studio and as a concept artist on the studio’s Netflix feature Klaus (Oscar nominee and BAFTA-winning film). Henrik will discuss how new tools, technology, and the internet can have unintended effects on our creative and artistic identity. In short, his talk explores how tools can make certain processes too convenient for our own good, and how difficult challenges enrich us.
Sunit Parekh is the owner and founder of the Danish animation studio Hydralab. In recent years, he has built the infrastructure and creative processes for Hydralab—a nimble, multidisciplinary studio delivering high-end results. Their work includes nationally funded animated films, high-budget VFX for top agencies, motion control systems for Oscar-nominated films, and production-critical software for major studios. Sunit will present their latest work and how they work to make small-scale projects look big.
In a short segment, Jakob Borrits Skob Sabra, Head of R&D at The Animation Workshop/VIA University College and the Danish National Center of Animation, and Sandra Brunkow Simonsen, Program Leader of Viborg Animation Festival, will share the latest industry insights.
