Empowering Directors for the Global Stage

An intensive workshop for film directors who want to strengthen their opportunities to direct films beyond their country’s borders and work on an international level, thereby broadening the scope for a focused career and increasing job opportunities.

This 4-day course is designed for ambitious directors seeking to unlock their potential and tell compelling stories for a global stage. Aimed at nurturing and empowering European directors ready to take on more ambitious projects or storytelling with wider international appeal, this program provides a unique blend of insightful theory and practical tools. Led by a highly respected industry expert.

Participants will explore the essentials of personal growth, and project development, gaining valuable skills in effective communication and the strategic mindset needed to reach broader audiences and excel in the global creative landscape.

  • By attending this course, you will gain knowledge of:
  • Greater confidence in yourself and your projects
  • The film business (money & the creative strings attached) and yourself as a “business”.
  • Developing for the international market (market driven approach vs. creative approach/voice vs. genre (how to maintain your voice)

Who should attend?

Designed for Europe’s ambitious top up and coming directors who have completed a feature film, who have a thirst for personal development. We will expect them to have a knowledge, understanding and experience within the film industry.

Please submit a half-page motivated application along with a CV detailing relevant work experience to efteruddannelsen@filmskolen.dk no later than April 15, 2025. Homework may be assigned between the first and second day of the course.
